Starting today, you can trade with Interactive Brokers (IBKR) across Futures, Stocks, and ETFs and leverage your trading talent with Darwinex’s capital introduction service.
The Darwinex-IBKR integration aims to attract more talented traders that can benefit from a truly multi-asset and multi-platform infrastructure, enabling them to attract seed and investor capital at scale. We believe this move enriches our ecosystem, benefiting the entire customer base: The more talented traders, the more investors, trust, and capital on our platform.
In this article, we’ll discuss:

Integration with Interactive Brokers – What’s new?
From this point forward, traders can trade from their Interactive Brokers account with the support of Darwinex’s Customer Success Team. Our IBKR relationship allows clients to trade from their IBKR account, with IBKR trading conditions and fixed prices but with the added value of transforming their trading strategy into an investable index – a DARWIN – thus benefiting from our seed and investor capital introduction service.
Types of account
The newly available accounts perfectly suit the different needs of our traders:
Classic IBKR Account
A Classic IBKR Account allows traders to trade all the assets available in Interactive Brokers under IBKR fixed pricing conditions and the support of our team:
- And more, on 150 global markets.
If a trader later decides he would like to create a DARWIN from this account, we’ll soon enable a feature that will allow them to start a DARWIN from their existing Classic IBKR account without the need to open a new account. We’ll analyze the traded assets eligible for a DARWIN (futures, US stocks, and ETFs) and we’ll migrate the track record to a DARWIN IBKR Account.
DARWIN IBKR Account
With this account, traders interested in accessing investor capital can trade IBKR futures, US stocks, and ETFs* which are the assets eligible for a DARWIN creation. For Stocks and ETFs we offer two types of accounts, which also include Futures:
The option for short-term traders trading both sides of the market. DARWIN investors holding long positions are charged for FX overnight funding costs while DARWIN investors get paid interest on short positions. The stock universe in this account is broader than for the long-only account.
Long-Only (coming soon)
Ideal for long-only traders holding long term positions. Investors are only charged interest where investment currency does not match their base account currency.
* ETFs are only available for Interactive Brokers professional clients and clients outside the European Union.
We remind clients that by creating a DARWIN index, they’ll have access to our analytical toolkit to assess their strategy, participate for seed capital, and attract investor capital on our platform. As usual, a DARWIN can facilitate traders growing their Assets under Management (AuM) from three sources:
- Seed Capital: we allocate seed capital every month to the best strategies in our capital allocation programme (DarwinIA) and we pay a 15% success fee.
- Third-party capital: investors buy a DARWIN and its provider receives 15% of the profits generated.
- Darwinex Pro: traders can introduce investors, using their own brand and conditions.
Current IBKR clients
Traders currently trading with Interactive Brokers and looking to attract investment via Darwinex, only need to follow a few simple steps to move their account to us. There’s absolutely zero paperwork involved and zero changes to their Interactive Brokers account: they won’t need to close their account with IBKR to access our services or deposit money with us.
The IBKR account moved to us will be treated as a Classic Account first. If a trader then decides to create a DARWIN index, they’ll need to contact us with the request. We’ll then analyze the strategy and migrate the track record to a DARWIN IBKR Account, taking into account the performance obtained on the assets eligible for a DARWIN (futures, US stocks, and ETFs) exclusively.
Traders will be able to trade all of the assets via a wide range of platforms integrated with Interactive Brokers such as:
- Trader WorkStation
- Zorro IB Bridge
- IB Gateway
- Many more.
We hope that this news results in a whole new world of possibilities for our traders!
As always, if you have any questions or comments you can write to email@example.com and our Customer Success Team will be happy to assist you.
Good Trading to all!
Your Darwinex Team.
Futures, Stocks and ETFs are not suitable for all. They are also complex instruments and have a high risk of losing money quickly due to leverage. Futures, Stocks and ETFs do not have negative balance protection and losses could exceed the deposited balance of your account.
